The Star of David, also known as the Shield of David, is the most recognized symbol of the Jewish faith. This six-pointed star is believed to be based on the shape or symbol of King David's shield.
Although now synonymous with Judaism, the Star of David became a popular emblem of the faith only in the past 200 years.
